Stimulus Package UNREAD but voted on!

The Pelosi/Reid thugs refused to allow anyone read The Stimulus Package before it was voted on. The Democrats themselves couldn't have read it, and it was handed to the Republicans knowing that they not just couldn't have read the 1,000 pages in that amount of time, but could never have had time to go through it properly.

This is the biggest Package in World History and the Mafiaocrats expect that they can just pass this thing without anyone looking inside to see what they have done. This is a scandal! This is not the kind of "Change" that the Obama-ite suckers that voted for him were expecting.

It's little wonder that all the republicans voted "no" on it. How could they with any conscience have done otherwise?

First, it is not the biggest package in world history. Off the top of my head, Bush's tax cuts cost three trillion.

Second, SHOCK! HORROR! Lawmakers pass bill without anyone reading it.

How many actually read any bills?

Even if your figure was correct, a tax cut is not the same as a spending bill!

This is the worlds biggest spending bill. And yes people do read these things....especially Republicans in this case.

Most of the stuff in this Bill has nothing to do with stimulating the economy.
Instead, it is turning out to be the Far Left wish list, fulfilled.
The Filth is using "the economy" as an excuse to push this wish list, which seem to include everything they have ever dreamed of, onto the unwitting American people.

The Bill, generally described as costing $787 billion, the Congressional Budget Office reports the actual figure is now closer to $3.27 trillion.

That stems from the $744 billion it will take to pay for the additional debt the legislation will create, and $2.527 trillion in increased spending from the new and expanded programs the bill will spawn over the next decade, a staggering $30,000 in new debt per household, dumped into the laps of our children and grandchildren. .

A few wishes for the Filth, fulfilled in the Bill, which has nothing to do with Stimulus, or is purely Political in nature:

# The plan has more than $3 billion in “neighborhood stabilization” and Community Development Block Grant funding, much of which may go to benefit ACORN, a low-income housing and voter registration “community” organization that is under federal investigation for its suspicious voter registration practices.

# $30 million for restoration of wetlands to be spent in the San Francisco Bay Area – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s district. The money will go in part to protect the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse.

# $200 million to provide computers to community colleges.

# $50 million for the National Endowment of the Arts.

# Over $650 million in coupons to help consumers buy digital TV converter-box coupons.

# A reported $300 million for hybrid vehicles and electric-powered cars. According to the Washington Times, this item will include buying golf carts for federal workers.

# $1.3 billion to bailout AMTRAK, the perennial money-loser railroad.

# $1 billion for educational programs

# This bill provides more than $1 billion dollars to create a new layer of bureaucracy within the Department of Health and Human Services.

# $20 billion provision that calls for mass digitization of medical records with little regard for the security or integrity of the sensitive personal data.

# There is a provision within the Stimulus Package that prohibits colleges and universities with a religious mission, those that allow faith-based student groups, or those who rent their facilities for worship services from receiving federal funding for building renovations and repairs. This is clearly discrimination and a violation of our religious liberties and could lead to costly litigation for these institutions.

# On tax cuts, the news doesn't get any better. The bill went into conference with 35% tax cuts and 65% spending. It's coming out of conference with 27% tax cuts and 73% spending. The tax relief portion amounts to $8 dollars in additional take-home pay per week for the average American worker, or a little more than an extra $1 dollar per day.

Stay tuned for further exposures of pork in the so called stimulus bill as it is uncovered.

This day and this vote will long live as the day America turned its back on its reliance on free men and free markets.
Sadly, America just embarked on an unprecedented slide toward the failed model of the stagnant Western European social welfare state.

This sums up the right's idiocy: calling money for education and rapid transit 'pork'.

Lies, lies and more lies.

I literally cannot conceive how anyone can have this mentality.

Sure thing, Americans need more education. However, do you agree that this money will need to be printed out of thin air, backed by nothing? Is not it logical to surmise that it will just create yet another shock wave of inflation and bury the living with the dead rather than resuscitating the dead?
P.S. No fancy verbiage I will be unable to verbigerate please

Rapid transit in the eyes of The Filth means a train between LA and Las Vegas so losers can give their money to casino owners so that casino owners can give kick-backs to crooked Dems.

This is not needed "infrastructure" that will stimulate economy and neither is pouring money into education going to stimulate the economy in the near future. What is needed are projects that will Immediately stimulate the economy this year not years down the road. Not only that the Filth has put restrictions on who can use anything that the money is spent on. If a building is reovated in any way with The Messiah's money then that building can no longer be used in any way to hold even the occasional meeting of a religious group or club. What about Catholic and Protestant owned Universities? Why should they be excluded? That is NOT a stimulus concern that is a pure ideological or political move made by the facsist Left. You may be a smart cookie Carbo but you have never read anything about or tried to understand your enemies.

If you admit that this is a brazen lie designed to deliberately mislead, I'll spare you the embarrassment of being publicly exposed as being a liar. I'll give you, ooohhhh, 4 hours.

Well I cant think of any other reason why anyone would run a line between LV and LA.

What LA needs is a REAL public transport system! They don't have one. The between LV and LA is pure necessary PORK , not needed infrastructure!

But there is no such provision in the bill. This is a GOP/hysterical right effort to block the bill or lower its polularity. But this time, it's not spin, it's just an outright lie. And another that you bought.

Not only that, there is already a railway to Vegas from LA, That it will be in competition with!!!!!. It smells!

What about the $75 million for smoking cessation programs? Stopping smokers means less cigarettes and fewer jobs for tobacco famers, transporters, retailers, etc… How is that stimulus ?

Lets face it....this nothing but a Lefty wish list. That's why they want to push it through before anyone has read it!

Well, first I would like to say something that I never like saying, but here goes: DDT, YOU ARE A LIAR. Like many of your brethren on the hysterical right, you are willing to tell outright lies if it will further your cause.

LIE 1: It’s interesting that you still claim that there is provision in the bill for an LA-LV high-speed rail link when the article you linked to as ‘proof’ opens with the following two sentences:

A proposed Anaheim-to-Las Vegas high-speed train became a hot topic as Congress prepared to pass an economic recovery bill. In reality, not a word about the train appears in the 1,000-plus page, $787-billion bill that Congress passed Friday night.
When I followed your link and I read those two opening sentences I nearly burst out laughing, you stupid lair.

LIE 2: But whatever the economically simulative effects of a LA-LV train line (more on that later), it does not appear in the plan, and suggesting it does is a plain lie. The money will be spread across the country, and projects will have to compete for investment. In that context, LA-LV will only be chosen if it one of the better projects. However, it is very unlikely to get any aid, because the money should go to the high speed rail corridors designated by the Railroad Commission. To help you, I’ve provided a map (below) depicting the designated corridors.

Oct18FRAmap.jpg

See a LA-LV train line on there? Neither do I. Lair.

LIE 3: Finally, only an idiot could not see the value of an LA-LV rail line in stimulating the economy. To build such a line would involve employing people (lots) which would then spend their wages with businesses in the private sector, who would then not have to shut down, or might actually employ more people, and so on. Not only that, but the project would involve buying lots of raw materials and other goods from private businesses to build the tracks, the overhead power lines, the earthworks (if there are any needed, I’m not familiar with the route’s topography), the stations and the trains and wagons. These businesses in turn must employ people (masses, when you follow the chain right down to the suppliers to suppliers, subcontractors, etc), and these people would then buy more things, and so on. How can that not be stimulative?

To say such a line would not be stimulative is an outright lie, not an opinion. Only a moron couldn’t see the stimulative benefits. Since you and GOP claim not to be morons, you must be lying.

MORE NONSENSE: I love the GOP’s equal opporunity mentality: it doesn't mind handing senior positions to retards. In LIAR DDT’s link to the LAT, there was quote of epic stupidity from the house minority leader, John Boeher (OH): "Tell me how spending $8 billion in this bill to have a high-speed rail line between Los Angeles and Las Vegas is going to help the construction worker in my district." To be honest, I don’t really know much about US politics, and I’ve never heard of this man, but if that’s the best the GOP can do in terms of potential leaders, I would suggest they’re in trouble. By Boeher’s criteria, no Representative or Senator would ever vote for anything that didn’t benefit their constituency directly. What an idiot. Even worse, Boeher represents Ohio, and if we look at the map above, Ohio (unless my geography is missing something) has rather a high concentration of route proposals that could potentially get money – in fact more than average. If it is pork (which it isn't), it's going to be Boehner with most bacon fat on his shirt. I hope voters in his state hear that he’s trying to block them getting the benefits of (1) stimulus money and (2) a high speed rail link, as well as (3) that their rep is either a complete vegetable incapable of cogent thought, or a liar.

This sums up the stupidity of the GOP and hysterical right.

But let us not let this stupidity distract us from the wanton lies that DDT posted and tried get away with here. I only spotted them because I have an interest in high-speed rail and was particularly interested in this part of the plan. I wonder how many more similar posts from this liar slip under the radar?
