Walpingate: Obama's Waterloo

Gerald Walpin, who until recently was the chief watchdog for Americorps and other service programs, was terminated because he exposed misuse of federal grant money by Kevin Johnson, the mayor of Sacramento and a close friend of Obama’s who heads a non-profit education group.

By law Inspector Generals can only be fired for a good cause and a 30-day written notice of the firing, and the reason for the firing, need to be detailed to Congress. The purpose of this law (which Obama co-sponsored as Senator) is to prevent political firings of Inspector Generals, whose main job it is to weed out corruption within the government.

By all indications, Walpin was doing his job — too well. He apparently was responsible for exposing corruption in some friends and associates of the Obamas.

Obama gave no reason to Congress for the firing, which caused even some Democrats to object. In response, Obama declared that he had lost confidence in Walpin, and made insinuations that Walpin had exhibited senile behavior at a staff meeting back in May.

If Obama really thought that Walpin was unfit for the job then why did he then send Walpin out to give a detailed lecture afterwards? Obama is clearly covering for himself by slandering a good man. The mainstream Media is not covering this story but I have a feeling that it is not over yet, in fact it is just beginning.

Walpingate: Walpin Responds, Obama Dodges | Axis of Right

The law governing inspectors general mandates that a president can remove them only after giving 30 day notice to Congress and stating a cause for the dismissal. Mr. Obama has offered no substantive reason for firing Mr. Walpin. That is unacceptable.

Yes, I am aware that these docs are sought after! We even have Hillary's first thesis from Columbia which was on Saul Alinsky (not surprizing)......believe it or not!.... but Obama is deathly afraid that we will discover his real past.
