Kindergarten

Hi All

We are looking for an English kindergarten for our 19 month old boy. We stay in Nakhimovsky Prospect. So any kindergarten around that area will be good. Thanx

most kindergartens here in russia only take children age 3+. my boss found it extremely diffucult to find somewhere to take his 18 month old son. if anyone has any good suggestions, then i am sure a lot of people would be interested to hear!

well, I was doing some research for one of my clients recently regarding Russian public kindergardens (not sure if you're interested in Russian kindergardens). however, he has a 2 y.o. girl and he really wants her to get in to a Russian kindergarden.
and it turns out that it's quite easy to do that even if you're a foreigner and your kid is only 2 y.o.

to get in to a public(state) kindergarden in Moscow you must:

- have a registration in Moscow (provided by your company);
- choose 1-3 kindergardens in a preferable area;
- apply to a Committee on the Admission of children in kindergartens(fill some forms and provide them with your and your child's details);
- wait until September to be accepted (as it's the beginning of a schoolyear) or wait until the place in one of the chosen kindergartens is vacant (it works if you want to get in to during the year - October till May)

* I must say the system of getting in to a kindergarden in Moscow is very straightforward (unlike in the rest of Russian cities)
even if you're a foreigner you can easily apply to ANY public kindergarden you want and get in to it at the beginning of a schoolyear without a problem.

I hope it'll help.

feel free to ask me if you need help or have any questions

best,
Kate Alekseeva
