A part of Braco Dimitrijevic's ongoing project Triptychos Post Historicus, proposing a democracy between works of art, natural phenomena and manufactured objects. By juxtaposing objects from all aspects of human experience ??“ for example, a Van Gogh, a pile of potatoes and a market cart ??“ Dimitrijevic was by no means suggesting a devaluation of artistic endeavour; rather he was asserting other phenomena as being equally worthy of attention. Kandinsky Award 2008
Painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, performance, installations. Kandinsky Award 2008 aims to develop Russian modern art, find new interesting projects and artists, define basic tendencies of the artistic process, influence its cultural-aesthetic content, involve new participants and strengthen positions on the world scene. The award takes place for the second time, and this year the exhibition of the nominees moved from WinZavod to the Central House of Artists and took 3,500 square meters. Just like last year, this time everything is exhibited alternately – Siniye Nosy (Blue Noses), Aidan Salakhova, Sergey Shekhovtsov, Sergey Chilikov, Dmitry Tsvetkov – and just like last year it looks a bit absurdly.

Karim Rashid Exhibition (USA)
Karim Rashid is a leading figure in the fields of product and interior design, fashion, furniture, lighting and art. Born in Cairo, half Egyptian, half English, and raised in Canada, Karim now practices in New York. He is best known for bringing his minimalist, high design aesthetic to a mass audience. Designing for an impressive array of clients from Umbra to Prada, Miyake to Method, Karim is radically changing the aesthetics of consumer product design, and the very nature of the consumer culture. Karim Rashid believes in a holistic approach to design, in which the sum of the parts can be more beautiful than the parts themselves. On a more mundane level, well-designed objects can add beauty and reflect the lives of those who use them."What I am trying to do is use furniture as a medium to talk a little more evanescently about the qualities of the digital age", says Karim Rashid.
