Moscow’s Musica Viva will perform various works by Schumann. Musica Viva is one of the most popular and loved chamber orchestras of the Russian capital. The unique atmosphere of the orchestra’s concerts is but one of many attractions for the audience. Without any fuss or fanfares and unnecessary pathos the musicians present refined and unconventional musical programmes, in which acknowledged masterpieces rub shoulders with musical rarities. The reserved charm of high-level professionalism and genuine enthusiasm of the members of the orchestra, the delicate taste in their choice of musical works and invited soloists have formed a unique artistic image of the Musica Viva. This is a universal orchestra; it has as its asset an enormous repertoire which encompasses music of all directions and styles. The group regularly presents little-known or completely unknown compositions of the classics to the public. Thus, it is Musica Viva which presented the first performance in Russia of many works of J.Ch. and F.E.Bach, A.Salieri, I.Pleyel, J.Dusseck, K.Dittersdorf, O.Koslovsky et al. This research work, connected with the search for and performance of rarities is not at all an “intellectual feast for the chosen”. The touring geography of Musica Viva orchestra is unusually expansive. The group is an honored guest at the prestigious international musical festivals which take place in Russian cities, as well as in France, Germany, Italy, Macedonia, Turkey, etc. The Musica Viva officially represents Russian musical art at the “Days of Russian Culture” in other countries. The orchestra performs in the finest halls of Russia and Europe. Zaryadye Concert Hall |

Russian National Orchestra will perform works by Tchaikovsky. The Orchestra was founded in 1990 by pianist and conductor Mikhail Pletnev and today is widely recognized as one of the world's top orchestras. About its debut at the BBC Proms in London, the Evening Standard wrote, "They played with such captivating beauty that the audience gave an involuntary sigh of pleasure." The RNO is also described as "a living symbol of the best in Russian art" (Miami Herald), "as close to perfect as one could hope for" (Trinity Mirror), and "astoundingly virtuosic" (Glasgow Herald). The first Russian orchestra to perform at the Vatican and in Israel, the RNO maintains an active international tour schedule, appearing throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. The RNO is the founding and resident orchestra of Napa Valley Festival del Sole, and performs at prominent venues such as the Edinburgh, Shanghai and Chopin Festivals, and the BBC Proms. Gramophone magazine called the first RNO CD (1991) "an awe-inspiring experience; should human beings be able to play like this?" and listed it as the best recording of Tchaikovsky's Path?tique in history. Since then, the orchestra has made more than 80 recordings, principally with Deutsche Grammophon and PentaTone Classics, as well as with other prestigious labels. Tchaikovsky Concert Hall |
