The State Chamber Orchestra of Russia will perform works by Bach, Handel and others. The Orchestra, one of the world's great ensembles, performs works by Handel and Poulenc. The Moscow Chamber Orchestra was created in 1956 by renowned conductor and violist Rudolph Barshai, and has long been considered a Russian national treasure. Always a magnet for the most talented and brilliant musicians in Moscow the orchestra has been an inspiration to important Russian composers such as Dmitri Shostakovich, who entrusted the first performance of his 14th Symphony to the orchestra. "The musicians spoke as one not as individuals or sections... the players picked up on one another's subtle cues and nonverbal communications, over and above their response to the conductor. That's coherence and musicianship; that's ideal" (Palm Beach Post). The Latvinian pianist Reinis Zarins performs regularly with all the leading orchestras and as a soloist and chamber musician. His performances are broadcast live on national radio and TV, and in both 2011 and 2012 they received Best-of-the-Year award given by the classical music radio. In 2012 Reinis was awarded the supreme Latvian state award in music - the Great Music Award. As an international artist, Reinis performs on both sides of the Atlantic, and recently also in South Africa. Maxime Ganz won many prizes as the "Diploma di Merito" in Accademia Musicale Chigiana, the "luthiers" prize at the Forum musical de Normandie, the audience prize and the prize for the best interpretation of the obligatory piece of the International Competition Julio Cardona in Covilha (Portugal).
