In central Moscow practically all areas within the "Garden Ring" can provide you with great access to public transport, shopping, and restaurants. The Arbat and Tverskaya/Kremlin areas are arguably the most lively parts of the center, with numerous bars, shops and entertainment venues. The Partriarshy Ponds and Lubyanka/Chistye Ponds areas are more quiet, providing a European feel and highly demanded by those that have children. The Zamoskvorechie area, south of the river is unique for its cozy cafes, art museums, and winding narrow streets. In all of these areas, a guideline price range for 2-bedroom apartments (roughly 100-150 sq.m) of good quality is currently ~$5,000-$10,000/month, depending on the quality of renovation and additional features such as parking, security, view, etc. Hope this helps,
