Slava Polunin is very probably the most famous clown in the world? The springboard for his career was Licedei, the all-clown, no-animals circus troupe he founded in Leningrad in the 1980's. Although Licedei continues and thrives, Slava has gone to make a solo career for himself, largely based on the astonishing Snow-Show – a continuously evolving, magical evocation of winter. The show has very few words anyhow, it's almost entirely in mime... Slava presents it all over the world (he lives in England these days) in the same version he's presenting here in Moscow in January.
But don't hesitate, book it today! Tickets are already on sale for the January performances, and will be certain to sell-out months in advance of the shows themselves.
Although it is a show that children will adore, it is not specifically "for children", and adults will love it too. The special blend of music, lights, and special effects doesn't "talk down" to a younger audience. Nor is "just clowning" – in fact, there's very little slapstick in the show at all. Instead, it's a warm-hearted and wonderful exploration of the magic of winter.
 Tickets are certainly not cheap - even the Balcony goes for 750Rbs per ticket, whilst best Stalls seats are up to 5000Rbs each. For this, though, you will see the most amazing show for children in the world.
Slava's Snow-Show is at the Vakhtangov Theatre in Moscow for eight performances only: 21-30 January 2005. Tickets are on sale now on www.parter.ru and wwwkontramarka.ru, and are likely to go very fast indeed.
