Pretty well-groomed beach near the stadium "Nauka" (Voikovskaya, take bus 179, 191, 114, 282 to the station "Kinoteatr Baikal"). Water attractions, cafe, children's play area, volleyball area, ping-pong, billiard, boats and catamarans are available.

Get out at Metro Vykhino, then take bus 602, 722 or 744 to the "Poliklinika" stop. This beach is very popular and therefore very crowded. There are numerous cafes, a volleyball court, a football field, and boat rental.

| Bukhta Radosty |
|
|
This beach is a bit of a hike from the city, but is well worth the trip. Located on the Klyazminskoye Reservoir, this beach is exceptionally clean and beautiful. Pack a picnic lunch and head out for the entire day. To get there, go to Rechnoi Vokzal and take a boat up the Moscow Canal. Boats leave every hour starting at noon, though you might want to call ahead and ask for an up-to-date schedule.

A part of Gloria Health Complex (24th km of Kievskoye sh., Verkhnee Valuevo). A free beach around the pond is available until 21:00. You may hire a boat or a catamaran. Gloria restaurant (Tel: 436-2526, 24/7) offers delicious dishes, for example, sturgeon grill. VIP area is a pontoon-beach with a bar, chaise lounges and beach umbrellas around a swimming pool. VIP area is available.

There are a lot of foreigners and teenagers on the beach. The atmosphere is relaxed, democratic and condusive to flirtation. The water is quite clean. Caution: the strong currents can carry a kilometer from the beach.

| Klyazminskoe Storage Pond |

|
Excellent place for a picnic with a beach (beach chairs, beach umbrellas, changing rooms are available), children's area, cafe, volleyball and football areas. Here you can even ride a horse as there is a small stable nearby. From metro Medvedkovo take bus 438 to the terminal station.

At Metro Kuzminki take bus 348 to the "Karier" stop. Although it is considered to be a Moscow beach, Lytkarino is 15 km outside the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD). The beach is famous for its white sand, clean water and pine forest. The shore is partly rocky. Cafe and parking (free and paid) are available.

"Gorki" beach on Moskva Canal. 27th km of Dmitrovskoe sh., watch for "Admiral-Club" direction sign and turn right, drive 4 about 4 km more. Free admission, few people and beautifully clean water. The beach and bottom are sandy. As long as you may look, there are picturesque surroundings. Football field, cafe, catamarans for rent.

An old lake on the territory of Lermontov's Serednikovo estate. Water is very clean, so it's the best place for a swimming. The lake is near a forest where romantic paths lead you to raspberry bushes, sally-bloom and tasty spring water. You may get there by car and by suburban electric train. By car drive to the station Firsovka, after a crossing move through the river Goretovka, then turn right. Your destination is a 34th km of Leningradskoye sh. If you go by suburban electric train, go to the station Firsovka (from Leningradsky railway station), then by bus 40.

Arguably one of the best Moscow beaches located on the territory of "Pokrovskoe-Glebovo". High entrance fee guarantees perfect peace and quiet. English lawns and flowerbeds. Sea sand is safe and good for kids as well as children's play area with trampolines and other entertainments. For rent: barbecue, kayaks, balls and rackets for badminton. Sports: golf, tennis, volleyball, mini football. Sheltered marquees with pillows and rugs can be leased. From metro Sokol take marshrutka 12M to the terminal station.

Nestled near Rublevo village (Myakininskaya poima) in "Zhivopisnaya" (Picturesque) bay, this beach (though it has an entrance fee) is very popular. The main alley divides it into two parts: a small lawn part with a cafe and children's play area; and a large sand part with changing rooms and open air showers. There are also sports areas, parking place, drinking water fountains, boats and pedal boats for rent.

Senezh Lake is one of the cleanest and quietest places in Moscow region - you are forbidden to use motorboats on its territory. On the beach there's everything needed: from an ice-cream to boat hiring, and even kite-serf-club "Senezh" (www.ozero-senej.ru). Here you may take a lesson of kitting. Fishers are welcomed to hire outfit and catch a pike or just buy it from some lucky. To attend this beautiful place, go to Podsolnechnaya train station (from Leningradsky railway station), then by bus 25 or 30; or drive to Solnechnogorsk, then turn to Timyanonvo at the police post - your destination is a 65th km of Leningradskoye sh.

Take the Metro to Polezhaevskaya, then take trolley bus 21. This beach is the cleanest in the city and is located in an area where many diplomatic missions have their dachas. There are many cafes and shops around the beach and two volleyball courts. The beach also has an area set aside for nude sunbathing and swimming.

Go to Metro Shchukinskaya, then take bus 231, 238, 687 or 277. Very clean and beautiful sand beach with many trees and bushes nearby. Cars are not permitted near the beach, so the air is cleaner than at any other Moscow beach. The place is quiet and divided into three separate beaches: regular, nudist, and gay.
