Tom,
You can join your wife in Moscow by getting an invitation for a visa to Russia in our office and then applying for a visa in Russian consulate in your country. There are different types of Russian visas single/double entry, multiple-entry. I assume you will need one year multi entry visa. Then If you want to get a work permission, the company you plan to work with should receive a special permission to enlist foreign labor force (or may be it already has it) , and only after this you can obtain a work permission card. The first step requires a list of documents from a company and takes usually 3-4 months. The second step - obtaining a work permit card itself takes usually about 30-40 days.
